Block Open Source

Recent organizational changes at Block have affected some team members who contributed to our open source projects.

Open source remains part of Block’s DNA. We build in the open because it makes the software we all depend on better - and because we believe open source is critical infrastructure.

We’re working through continuity plans on a project-by-project basis, including maintaining access for former maintainers where appropriate and ensuring security and release processes remain functional. Over the coming weeks, we’ll post project-specific updates directly in relevant GitHub Discussions and Discord channels. If you maintain or regularly contribute to a Block project and have questions, please reach out via Discussions on that project, or this thread.

We recognize that open source communities depend on consistent stewardship. To everyone who builds with us, reviews PRs, files issues, writes docs, ships patches, and shows up in discussions: thank you. We’re committed to earning and maintaining your trust through steady stewardship and clear communication - and to continuing to invest in open source as part of how Block builds.
